Thank YOU! My wife and I purchased the book(s) on our son's recommendation; I realize that the best way is to come to the clinic, but time constraints are something that we all deal with--besides, we wanted to see how the system worked first. As it happened, both of us have received tremendous relief from the exercises, and from the postural training. For me, the problems were constant back and shoulder pain, and other, unspecified "pains" that I just "lived with." For her, there was shoulder pain, back pain, hip pain, knee pain, etc. Both of us are "exercisers;" she walks, I cycle, lift weights, walk with her. I'm 61, she's 60. However, my job is sedentary (I'm in the mortgage business), so as Mr. Egoscue says, I suffer from "lack of motion sickness. " Anyway, the first few weeks were very difficult indeed. I had everted my feet almost since childhood; I had thrown my shoulders forward, and a bunch of other things. So the first thing I did was to resolve (along with the exercises) to get things "back in line. " If you're used to bad posture, good posture hurts for a while. For a few weeks, I could not walk very far at all (a mile?), as my knees readjusted to the proper stance. As of now, (about 5-6 weeks) we are both much better. I can walk (and perhaps soon get back to running, which I haven't done in years--knees). The shoulder pain is much better, and I think that soon I can begin to lift weights again (a lifelong interest).

I wanted to write this letter to add to the testimonials (which I'm sure you've received many times over), and as a way of saying thanks for the books. By the way: the FIRST book ("Health through Motion") is very important for understanding the second, and vice versa. Have you thought of an encyclopedia of "motion exercises," including function runs, weightlifting, proper posture for cycling, etc. etc. I realize something like that would be a great deal of work, but it would be a great reference for all of us who wish to regain and retain our health. I don't know how long I will live (who does?), but my plan is to move and thus be in good health every day. Once again, thanks.

I just had to share the last six months of transition that I have incurred as a result of using the e-cises on a daily basis.

Until recently, I had spent the last 10 years of my life trying to relieve on-going and debilitating pain in my back, neck and all over. As an analyst by trade, I spent hundred of hours trying to find illnesses to match my symptoms. A very nasty habit to get into to! Spent thousands of dollars on specialists, MRI's, countless books, even spent several years on anti-anxiety medication to treat the on-going symptoms. Finally in Jan of 2006, found Pete's website and immediately got Pain Free. Originally thinking this would be another symptom relieving method.. I was so wrong. It made such sense!! After getting immediate relief from pain just trying the e-cises, I decided it was worth the investment to be seen at a clinic. These sessions were the start of my life change. I have been doing my menus every single day. And although sometimes the e-cises were difficult, it showed me that these were the ones I needed to do.

I am in my late 40,s and so proud to say that I have just finished my 3rd kickboxing class with nearly zero soreness and I am so amazed at the level of flexibility and ease of movement I now have. I would never be able to do this type of exercise a year ago without probably finding myself in traction for days. I am so excited to wake up and know that I am not limited by age ( the ultimate myth). Pete says it best, that you must put the fear down of your pain, and understand that pain is just a signal.
